Beware
of Enoch’s Occultic Twin!
“Enoch a righteous man,
whose eyes were opened by God, saw the vision of the Holy One in the heavens,
which the angels showed me, and from them I
heard everything, and from them I understood as I saw, but not for this
generation, but for a remote one which is for to come. Concerning the elect I… took
up my parable concerning them...” - 1 Enoch 1:2-3
The
Hebrew name Enoch (a.k.a. Henoch) means “initiated.” It can also mean “narrow,”
which figuratively means to discipline or initiate into knowledge - just as a
teacher might do by focusing on a subject in layers, revealing greater and
greater detail with each lesson. This meaning also suggests the “narrow road to
life” that Yahshua mentioned (Matthew 7:13-14). Enoch did as Yahshua calls us
all to do. He followed a narrow road - a road he faithfully walked with God
until he was translated (Gen. 5:22-24). Interestingly, because “Enoch” means
both “initiated” and “narrow,” it also suggests that being initiated into the
knowledge that Enoch possessed is difficult to understand, and even harder to
live by.
One
of our most reliable sources of information about Enoch can be found in one
ancient manuscript that bears his name: The Ethiopian Book of Enoch, or the
Book of 1 Enoch. This ancient manuscript clearly tells us what Enoch did, and
what he believed. It also explicitly tells what happened in antediluvian times
- during Enoch’s lifetime. It tells us thhat, after Adam and Eve’s Fall, our
antediluvian ancestors sinned so deeply that Yahweh decided to destroy all living
things with a flood. It therefore supports the Biblical account of the Great
Flood. It also describes shadowy figures that few people today know anything
about: the Nephilim, and the fallen angels who spawned them in sin.
In
the above quote from 1 Enoch, we are told that this manuscript was
preserved for a generation that would exist far into the future. I
believe that future generation is this current one, and that we are in the
final Age that Enoch foresaw, when God will put an end to wickedness on the
Earth, and establish a Kingdom of righteousness that will have no end. But
before this occurs, a time of trouble such as the world has never seen before
is destined to come - a dreaded time known as the Great Tribulation, or the
Apocalypse. With the exception of the Great Flood, no greater time of trouble
has ever been experienced by the people of Earth, nor will they experience any
greater one after it.
For
those who wish to avoid that horrible time of trouble, it would be wise to
become reacquainted with Enoch’s view of God, of righteousness, of angels and
fallen angels, and of the genetic corruption the fallen angels spawned by
creating the Nephilim, and also teaching mankind how to manipulate genes. This
is because we are living in a time when men can again play God - when they can
manipulate genes to create certain desired outcomes in people, and plants that
may appear beneficial to the world. Nonetheless, the long term affects of this
tampering with God’s sovereignty, and the Laws He set up to govern nature are
unknown, and could potentially be disastrous.
Those
who wish to avoid the terrible mistakes that humanity made in the past need to
pay attention to Enoch’s wisdom, and the future that Enoch foresaw. Enoch left
a legacy of spiritual and historical knowledge that speaks to this current
generation like no other. Will we be wise enough to listen to Enoch’s messages
to us, and to heed his warnings? Only time will tell. In the meantime, this
book will reveal what Enoch’s writings were always meant to tell the world. It
will show that Enoch’s words were meant to become a lamp, or beacon of light to
this generation, and to help lead them out of spiritual darkness and ignorance.
In this way, what has been hidden until this Age will again be made known, just
as Yahshua prophesied:
“And
He said to them, "Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a
bed? Is it not to be set on a lampstand? For
there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept
secret but that it should come to light. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.” - Mark
4:21-23 (NKJ)
The
Book of 1 Enoch, along with the Book of Jasher, and the Book of Jubilees, can
help to reveal those hidden things. This is because they give much detail
concerning the sins of our antediluvian ancestors, and their ill-fated
involvement with the fallen angels, and the Nephilim. Without these
manuscripts, it is impossible to know what happened to mankind prior to the
Great Flood with any certainty, or why it should be important to us. All we
have left to go on are all the corruptions of the truth found in ancient
legends and myths. Though these myths and legends also have their place in
helping us to understand what occurred before recorded history, the three
aforementioned non-biblical religious manuscripts have a stronger claim to
veracity.
After
seriously studying them for a number of years, I have come to the conclusion
that the Book of 1 Enoch, the Book of Jasher and, to a more limited extent, the
Book of Jubilees are authentic Semitic histories that preserve an accurate
record of the spiritual beliefs that arose prior to, and after the Great Flood.
Therefore, they can be relied upon to fill in the huge blanks left in the
abbreviated Genesis account of antediluvian history.
Due
to internal evidence, and their harmonization with the Bible, it appears that
the Book of Jubilees, Jasher, and 1 Enoch are either authentic histories, or
compilations containing authentic historical information in a framework of
later narrative. That is why these books are the basis for most of the
suppositions in this book about what may have occurred prior to the Great
Flood. However, unlike the Book of Jasher and Jubilees, the Book of 1 Enoch is
filled with divinely inspired prophecies. So, though it too is useful as a
history, the Book of 1 Enoch is also a storehouse of extremely ancient,
God-breathed prophetic knowledge. This makes 1 Enoch the oldest divinely
sanctioned prophetic work available to mankind outside of the Gospel in the
Stars.
In
this book, it will be shown that 1 Enoch is very valuable as a prophetic source
- one that is comparable to some biblicall prophetic books. Therefore, in
addition to analyzing biblical and extra-biblical Judeo-Christian religious teachings
about human history, this book will attempt to decipher what Enoch’s prophecies
were meant to show this final generation before Christ’s Second Coming.
The
book that bears Enoch’s name is quoted from extensively in this book, as is the
Book of Jasher. Many people, however, are not familiar with these two ancient
manuscripts, and may therefore wonder how reliable they are as historical
accounts of the past. This section will address these concerns regarding these
two Judeo-Christian manuscripts. In the process, it will show that both should
be considered much more reliable than the many Pagan myths that non-Christian
scholars often rely on to determine what happened in the far past.
Though
some scholars believe the Book of 1 Enoch, or the Ethiopian Book of Enoch, is a
Jewish work conceived of no later than the third or forth century before
Christ, other scholars feel it may be much older. Originally, it was likely
written in Hebrew, and many fragments of the book were found written in Hebrew
among the Dead Sea Scrolls. It was also highly regarded among all the early
Christian church fathers, but mysteriously vanished from Western liturgical
usage after the establishment of the Roman Catholic Church. In Book Four, we
will discuss the sinister motivations that may have surrounded this
manuscripts’ disappearance in the Dark Ages.
In
1773, in Abyssinia - which is an archaic name for modern day Ethiopia - the
English explorer James Bruce found the full manuscript of the Book of 1 Enoch.
He brought back three copies recorded in Ethiopic script, and these effectively
re-introduced Western scholars to Enoch’s incredible record of antediluvian
times. Today, the Book of 1 Enoch still holds a high place among the sacred
books of the Ethiopian Christian Church. There, it is considered canonical, and
it is used as a reference when Ethiopian Christians study God’s Word.
Unfortunately, it is still almost totally unknown among Christians in the West,
and they are, therefore, mostly unaware of the awesome power of its teachings.
Despite
its almost unknown status, some western scholars believe that the Book of 1
Enoch is an authentic God-inspired Scriptural document that was written, at least
in part, by Enoch himself. If Enoch composed all or most of it, it would
place the books’ writing to sometime between Enoch’s birth in 3381 BC, and his
translation into heaven in 3016 BC. Much of the historical information in this
manuscript was, therefore, likely recorded long before the Great Flood of 2347
BC.
In
order to show how important the Book of 1 Enoch is as a Judeo-Christian
reference work, it is important to establish who Enoch was, and - more
importantly, why we should care what he wrote in his manuscript. To find out,
let’s first look in the Book of Genesis. There, we are told that Enoch was the
son of Jared, and the seventh patriarch in the line of Seth. We are also told
that Enoch walked with God, and never saw death:
“Enoch
walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.” - Genesis
5:24 (NIV)
By
saying that Enoch “walked with God,” the author of this section of
Genesis was stating that Enoch had a very close personal relationship with
Yahweh and, like Abraham, was considered righteous by his faith. Through
Cainan, Enoch may have first been taught that the metaphorical Language of God
was symbolically written into the Cosmos at the time of Creation. Enoch,
however, gradually learned more, and eventually understood the Language of God
in the starry heavens, which Enoch called the “heavenly tablets.” This heavenly
record foretold the coming of the one future King, Priest, and Redeemer who
would come to conquer the fallen angel Azazel (i.e.
Satan), sin, and death forever.
Since
Enoch had such great faith in Yahweh, he was chosen to reveal a great deal more
of God’s hidden testimony about Himself than Cainan. So, though the Language of
God in the stars was initially revealed to Cainan, Enoch was likely the first
man to discern its full implications. There is also evidence that Enoch
recorded his belief in the Gospel in the Stars using hieroglyphics, pictorial
representations, and sacred geometry to create the architectural plans for a
pillar of stone dedicated to Yahweh - one so grand in scale that it would never
be surpassed. I believe that this Enochian pillar was the Great Pyramid complex
at Giza.
In
the Book of 1 Enoch, Enoch is called the “scribe of righteousness” (1
Enoch 12:4; 15:2) who was able to read “the heavenly tablets.” Some
scholars believe that these heavenly tablets may refer to some invisible record
that Enoch saw recorded in the Heaven where God dwells, i.e. not the heavens
surrounding our Earth. However, there is evidence that people before and after
the Flood saw the heavens surrounding our Earth as a giant, divinely written
picture book that was always meant to tell a story. This is found in the
forty-eight constellations of the ancient Zodiac. In Book One of this series,
it was shown that the term heavenly tablets could be a reference to the Zodiac.
Furthermore, it was shown that Enoch likely used picture symbols like
hieroglyphics to record his knowledge of the picture story written in the vault
of heaven.
In
Arab legends, as well as in the Book of Jubilees, Enoch is credited with the
invention of writing:
“…he
(Jared) called his name Enoch. And he was
the first among men that are born on earth who learnt writing and knowledge and
wisdom and who wrote down the signs of heaven according to the order of their months
in a book,
that men might know the seasons of the years according to the order of their
separate months. And he was the first to write a testimony and he testified to
the sons of men among the generations of the earth…” - Jubilees 4:17-18
This
quote from the Book of Jubilees clearly states that Enoch invented writing. If
Enoch did, Enoch’s ancestor Cainan may have learned hieroglyphic writing from
Enoch, since the Book of Jasher tells us that Cainan wrote down his wisdom on
stone tablets, ostensibly in a way that would make it possible for others to
read it later.
Referring to the above quote from Jubilees,
it says that Enoch “wrote down the signs of heaven according to the order of
their months in a book.” It therefore clearly supports the idea that Enoch
was the first to write down what he had seen in the twelve houses of the
Mazzaroth or Zodiac, which governed each of the twelve months. Therefore, the
“heavenly tablets” written in heaven probably consisted of the stars, and the symbols
associated with the forty-eight ancient constellations of the Zodiac.
Rather
than being used for fortune telling, there is much evidence that the Zodiac was
created to inform mankind of God’s purpose for Creation, as well as His Plan of
Salvation. This is why many people have come to believe that the Zodiac forms a
divinely created Gospel in the Stars. In Book One of this book series, we
discuss all the marvelous spiritual truths that can still be found in the
heavens, and we give people a detailed glimpse into all the knowledge that
Enoch knew from studying the meaning of the stars.
The
written references that exist concerning Enoch portray him as a great king and
spiritual teacher. They reveal that he served as a prophetic messenger for
Yahweh and that he recorded many prophecies in book form. His prophecies were
about the coming destruction of the Earth as well as the complete spiritual
history of the world to the present. The Book of Jubilees mentions Enoch’s
prophetic visions and writings in a favorable light:
“And
what was and what will
be he saw in a vision of his sleep, as it will happen to the children of men
throughout their generations until the day of judgment; he saw and understood everything, and wrote his
testimony,
and placed the testimony on earth for all the children of men and for their
generations.” – Jubilees 4:19-20
The
prophecies in the Book of 1 Enoch have proven to be incredibly accurate. In
fact, much of 1 Enoch is prophetic in nature, and full of the allegorical
Language of God. In the metaphorical style of its prose, 1 Enoch is very
similar to the Books of Ezekiel and Revelation in the Bible. We will delve into
the interpretation of two of Enoch’s prophecies in Book Four, “The Language of
God in Prophecy.” There, we will explore Enoch’s prophecies of the One-Horned
Ram, the Ten 700-year Ages of Men - or 7000 years, and the Seventy Shepherds.
In every respect, these prophetic visions have proven correct - even though, since Enoch
likely lived between 3381 BC and 3016 BC, they may have been written over five
thousand years ago!
In
addition to using 1 Enoch as a historical and spiritual reference, this book
relies on the history called the Book of Jasher, or “The Upright Record,” which
is mentioned in the Old Testament twice (See Joshua 10:13 and 2 Samuel 1:18).
Incidentally, “Jasher” isn’t a person’s name, but is the Hebrew word for
“Upright.” Like the Book of Jubilees, the Upright Record is a retelling of the
Genesis story from a different person’s perspective other than Moses’. It also
contains a wealth of detail missing from Moses’ abbreviated account. For those
who wish to read this book, you should know that there are two books
circulating that are entitled “The Book of Jasher.” The one that is purported
to be a ninth century translation by Flaccus Albinus Alcuinus (the Abbot of
Canterbury, and the religious tutor of Charlemagne) is an obvious forgery.
The
books of Joshua and 2 Samuel in the Old Testament mention the Book of Jasher,
or “Upright Record” as a source of information for two historical events that
the Bible covers briefly. These two stories are contained in the thirteenth
century translation, but the incident in 2 Samuel is not covered in the ninth
century edition at all. Furthermore, the thirteenth century translation appears
to have been made from a Hebrew original. Besides this important claim, the
thirteenth century copy of the Book of Jasher has the feel of an authentic
historical document written by someone with a Semitic background who actually
witnessed some of the recorded events. This thirteenth century edition is far
longer than the false ninth century edition, and contains too many authentic
cultural descriptions of Near Eastern and Semitic life to have been invented.
Furthermore, none of the
more vivid and colorful historical and cultural recollections in the thirteenth
century edition - the ones that give it such a ring of authenticity - appear in
the supposedly older manuscript by Alcuinus.
Since
the Book of Jasher isn’t considered a religious document, but a historical
narrative, some of its stories may have been embellished. In a few sections of
the book, it appears that some tampering was done, but not enough to invalidate
the entire book. The Book of Jasher also appears to contain a few historical
inaccuracies that can readily be attributed to human error or bias. In
addition, the Book of Jasher ’s chronology for certain events differs in some
cases from the abbreviated Genesis account of this time period in the Bible. I
always trust that the Bible is more accurate in these cases.
Nevertheless,
the Book of Jasher has great value as a history since it offers a wealth of
details that the Genesis account by Moses lacks. In many cases, it can help us
to understand difficult passages or situations recorded too briefly in the
Bible. Still, it is currently impossible to prove whether or not the thirteenth
century copy of the Book of Jasher available to us today is a true copy of the
original Bible history - at least not until a much older manuscript is found.
In the meantime, I believe that there is enough internal evidence in the Book
of Jasher to prove that it is authentic, and highly useful for study - with the
Holy Spirit’s guidance.
What
follows throughout this book are many suppositions about the past gleaned from
studying these ancient manuscripts, as well as the Bible, and countless secular
history books. Admittedly, these ideas may sound very strange to people who
have never delved very deeply into studying ancient history, or ancient
religions. However, the reader should carefully and prayerfully consider the
ideas herein before rejecting them. If anyone fully researches these
suppositions, they will see that they aren’t far-fetched at all. Rather, they
answer the many questions about the past that have been raised by adept
non-Christian scholars such as Graham Hancock, Zecharia Sitchin, John Anthony
West, Andrew Collins, and many others in recent times.
If anyone
has read any books by the aforementioned scholars, they would realize that -
though these gentlemen raise some very valid questions about the past - they
aren’t Christians. As a result, they challenge not only orthodox secular views
of ancient history, but also biblical history. However, the same scholars have
done us a great service by pointing out that orthodox views of history are not
based on facts at all, but suppositions. Furthermore, they solidly point out
that many in the academic communities around the world blithely ignore evidence
that negates, or is contrary to their established ideas. If we are seekers of
truth, the legitimate though conflicting data presented by scholars who
question modern scientific orthodoxy should also lead us to question what we
are being told about the past - both in schools and books.
It
is time that we Christians solidly addressed the findings of those who not only
refute orthodox books on ancient history, but the Bible’s record of what
happened in the past. There are also many Christian scholars who question
orthodox views in areas such as ancient history, anthropology, archeology, and
geology. These include such godly men as Henry M. Morris - the founder of the
Institute for Creation Research, and a prolific writer about the past.
Now
that I have explained my use of 1 Enoch, Jubilees, and the Book of Jasher as
reliable histories, let’s see what they have to say about Enoch, the seventh antediluvian
Patriarch from the line of Seth. In the Book of Jasher, Enoch is depicted as a
very wise man that had a unique and privileged relationship with God. In the
Book of Jasher and the Book of Jubilees, Enoch is depicted as a recluse who
spent many hours praying and meditating. The Book of Jubilees also tells us
that Enoch spent much time in the company of holy angels who instructed Enoch
in the ways of Yahweh. In addition, Enoch is described as a man who wasn’t at
all afraid to share what Yahweh had revealed to him in prayer, discussion with
angels, visions, and dreams.
Jubilees,
the Book of Jasher, and 1 Enoch tell us that Enoch preached to all the rulers
of the antediluvian world about the ways of Yahweh and taught them the paths of
righteousness. In addition, the Book of 1 Enoch contains the carefully recorded
written descriptions of many of the prophetic heavenly visions that Enoch saw.
These ancient sources record that, like Enosh’s son Cainan before him, Enoch
foretold the destruction of the world in a great flood:
“And at the ends of the earth I saw twelve portals
open to all the quarters (of the heaven), from which the winds go forth and
blow over the earth. Three of them are open on the face (i.e. the east) of the
heavens, and three in the west, and three on the right (i.e. the south) of the
heaven, and three on the left (i.e. the north)…” “Through four of these come
winds of blessing and prosperity, and from those eight come hurtful wind… they
bring destruction on all the earth and on the water upon it, and on all who
dwell thereon, and on everything which is in the water and on the land.” - 1
Enoch 76:1-4
“And
all the cattle of that enclosure were gathered together until I saw how they
sank and were swallowed up and perished in that water. But that vessel floated
on the water, while all the oxen and elephants and camels and asses sank to the
bottom with all the animals, so that I could no longer see them, and they were
not able to escape, (but) perished and sank into the depths.” - 1 Enoch 89:5-7
The
second reference above is from a vision that Enoch had, in which fallen angels,
Nephilim, and people were depicted as different types of animals. This vision
is a powerful example of the Language of God in action. It is full of prophetic
import, and it is therefore fully analyzed in Book Four. In this section of
that vision, Enoch describes the gruesome effects of the coming Great Flood,
saying that all these allegorical animals “perished and sank into the
depths.”
In
addition to receiving and recording many visions and dreams, Enoch became a
“tsadek,” or teacher of righteousness, after the birth of his son Methuselah.
The Book of Jasher describes Enoch as a very godly, and spiritually aware. As
such, Enoch wisely sought to find God in solitude for many years:
“And
the soul of Enoch was wrapped up in the instruction of the Lord, in knowledge
and in understanding; and he
wisely retired from the sons of men, and secreted himself from them for many
days. And
it was at the expiration of many years, whilst he was serving the Lord, and
praying before him in his house, that an angel of the Lord called to him from
Heaven, and he said, Here am I. And he (the angel) said, Rise, go forth from
thy house and from the place where thou dost hide thyself, and appear to the
sons of men, in order that thou mayest teach them the way in which they should
go and the work which they must accomplish to enter in the ways of God.” -
Jasher 3:2-4
This
voluntary time that Enoch spent in seclusion, prayer, worship, and study
reveals Enoch’s deep reverence for, and love of Yahweh. This is undoubtedly why
Enoch’s visions of Heaven, and of the fate of the blessed and the damned mirror
the prophetic books of the Bible in virtually every respect. His writings are
filled with much Bible-affirming historical agreement. Due to his great
spiritual and astronomical knowledge and wisdom, Enoch was greatly sought after
as a teacher of righteousness, and was also called to serve mankind as a
beloved leader of men:
“And Enoch rose up according to the word of the
Lord, and… went to the sons of men and taught them the ways of the Lord… And
he… proclaimed in all places where the sons of men dwelt, saying,’ Where is the
man who wishes to know the ways of the Lord and good works? Let him come to
Enoch.’ And all the sons of men then
assembled to him… and Enoch reigned over the sons of men according to the word of
the Lord, and they came and bowed to him and they heard his word.”
“And
the spirit of God was upon Enoch, and he taught all his men the wisdom of God
and his ways, and the sons of men served the Lord all the days of Enoch, and
they came to hear his wisdom. 9 And all the kings of the sons of men… together
with their princes and judges, came to Enoch when they heard of his wisdom, and
they bowed down to him, and they also required of Enoch to reign over them, to
which he consented.
“And
they assembled in all, one hundred and thirty kings and princes, and they made
Enoch king over them and they were all under his power and command. And Enoch taught them wisdom, knowledge, and the ways of the Lord; and he
made peace amongst them, and peace was throughout the earth during the life of Enoch.” - Jasher 3:5-11
The
peacefulness of Enoch’s reign on the Earth was a remarkable feat, considering
the other factors working against any lasting peace. This was, after all, the
Age when the fallen angels had become gods among the children of Cain, and the
murderous Nephilim offspring of the fallen Watchers had begun to raise havoc on
the Earth. Despite their evil influence, Enoch managed to lead many men to live
in peace and righteousness for the duration of his time on Earth, which was
several hundred years longer than most men are given. While he reigned, Enoch
never failed to repudiate evil, and he boldly rebuked the fallen Watchers when
he served as a messenger between them and Yahweh God. The Book of Jubilees
relays some information about this:
“And
he was moreover with the angels of God these
six jubilees of years, and they showed him everything which is on earth and in the heavens,
the rule of the sun, and he wrote down 22 everything. And he testified to the Watchers, who had sinned with the daughters of
men; for
these had begun to unite themselves, so as to be defiled, with the daughters of
men, and Enoch 23 testified against (them) all.” - Jubilees 4:21-22
This
passage from the Book of Jubilees tells us that Enoch spent many years studying
with God’s holy angels, that he recorded everything that happened to him, and
that he testified (i.e. proclaimed God’s wisdom and judgment) to the Watchers
who had sinned. The Book of 1 Enoch gives far more information than the Book of
Jubilees about Enoch’s testimony to the fallen angels. It tells us that, after Enoch foretold the
destruction of the Nephilim, the fallen Watchers came to Enoch, and asked Enoch
to intercede for them before God:
“The
Watchers called me - Enoch the scribe - and said to me: 'Enoch, thou scribe of
righteousness, go, declare to the Watchers of
the heaven who have left the high heaven, the holy eternal place, and have defiled
themselves with women, and have done as the children of earth do, and have
taken unto themselves wives: ‘Ye
have wrought great destruction on the earth: And ye shall have no peace nor
forgiveness of sin: and inasmuch as they delight themselves in their children, The murder
of their beloved ones shall they see, and over the destruction of their
children shall they lament, and shall make supplication unto eternity, but
mercy and peace shall ye not attain.’” - 1 Enoch 12:4-6
“And Enoch went and said: ‘Azazel, thou shalt have no peace: a severe sentence has gone forth
against thee to put thee in bonds: And thou shalt not have toleration nor request
granted to thee, because of the unrighteousness which thou hast taught, and
because of all the works of godlessness and unrighteousness and sin which thou
hast shown to men.' Then I went and spoke to them all together, and they were
all afraid, and fear and trembling seized them. And they besought me to draw up a petition for them that they might
find forgiveness, and to read their petition in the presence of the Lord of
heaven. For
from thenceforward they could not speak (with Him) nor lift up their eyes to
heaven for shame of their sins for which they had been condemned.” - 1 Enoch
13:1-6
From
these excerpts alone, it should be clear that there is more history about the
fallen angels, and their evil influence on mankind in the Book of 1 Enoch than
in any other ancient source. We are told herein that Enoch, the scribe of righteousness,
was called to declare God’s judgment against the fallen Watchers. The fallen
angels, in turn, appeared to repent, and beseeched Enoch to ask God for their
forgiveness. Nevertheless, their appeal for forgiveness was denied. Enoch then
issued a final warning about the impending destruction of the Nephilim children
of the Watchers, as well as the impending doom of the fallen angels (1 Enoch
14:4-7).
Besides
telling us about the behavior and judgment against the evil, fallen Watchers,
and their Nephilim offspring, Enoch’s writings describe the nature and
activities of the good angels like Gabriel, Raphael, and Michael. Just as they
are described in the Bible, these three benevolent messengers of Yah are
depicted as extremely active in the affairs of both men and angels. Compare 1
Enoch 1:2, 6:2, 18:4, 19:1-2, 20:1-3, 22:3-5, 24:6, 27:2, 32:2,6, & 33:4 to
Genesis 16:7-13; 18:1-3, 19:1-2, 32:1; Daniel 8:16, 9:21; Luke 1:19, 1:26,
2:9-14; Jude 1:9; & Revelation 12:7.
In
addition to the previously referenced passages about major angelic visitations,
there are countless other mentions of angels in both the Book of 1 Enoch and
the Bible. However, the Book of 1 Enoch gives much more detail, and places much
more emphasis on, the affairs of angels and men, and details their affects on each other. The Book of 1
Enoch, therefore, sheds a much-needed light on angels in general, though it is
especially concerned with the era of the antediluvian patriarchs, and their
dealings with both righteous and fallen angels, the unholy Nephilim offspring
of the Watchers, and their unusual world.
Enoch’s
writings are so concerned with angels because, unlike current times, both holy
and evil angels were a visible, tangible, and powerful presence in Enoch’s
world. This is a bit how things will likely be during Yahshua’s Millennial Rule
on Earth, when mortal and immortal will dwell on the Earth together, and Yah’s
angels will be a visible presence on the Earth once more. Only this time, there
will be no evil angels around to corrupt humanity until the end of the
Millennial Kingdom, when the Book of Revelation tells us that Satan will be
released again for a short time (Revelation 20:7-8). This will be done to
deceive those who refuse to love the light and warmth of Yahweh, and who are,
therefore, destined to perish.
In
the preceding quote from the Book of Jubilees (Jubilees 4:21-22), the writer
tells us that God’s holy angels instructed Enoch for six Jubilees of fifty years each - or
three hundred years! Since Enoch only lived on Earth for 365 years, and
Enoch’s son Methuselah was born when Enoch was 65, Enoch spent the rest of his
life being instructed by God’s holy angels. Enoch would therefore have had
wisdom, and knowledge far beyond our own. Perhaps that is why all the
prophecies recorded in 1 Enoch support and confirm the Old Testament prophetic
books, as well as the New Testament’s Book of Revelation. This may also by why
all of Enoch’s prophecies have proven to be uncannily accurate. Since these
prophecies are so accurate, they suggest that Enoch was covered by the Holy
Spirit’s power. Not surprisingly, the Book of Jasher tells us that this was
indeed the case:
“And
the spirit of God was upon Enoch, and he taught all his men
the wisdom of God and his ways, and the sons of men served the Lord all the
days of Enoch, and they came to hear his wisdom.” - Jasher 3:8
Since
the Holy Spirit inspired Enoch’s words and, by extension, his writings, they should
be considered Scriptural. In fact, Enoch’s words were considered Scriptural at
the time of Christ, and both the Apostle Peter, and the brother of Yahshua
called Jude referred to the teachings found in 1 Enoch:
“For
if God did not spare the angels who
sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness,
to be reserved for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight
people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly…”
- 2 Peter 2:4-5 (NKJ)
In
the preceding Scripture, the Apostle Peter is referring to information about
the fallen angels that is found in the Book of 1 Enoch. In the next Bible
quote taken from the Epistle of Jude, Jude quotes directly from 1 Enoch 1:9-10,
as shown here:
“Enoch,
the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men: ‘See, the Lord is coming
with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones to judge everyone, and to
convict all the ungodly of all the ungodly acts they have done in the ungodly
way, and of all the harsh words ungodly sinners have spoken against him.’ ” -
Jude 1:14-15 (NIV)
Compare
this to:
“And
behold! He cometh with ten thousands of His holy ones To execute judgement upon
all, and to destroy all the ungodly: And to convict all flesh of all the works
of their ungodliness which they have ungodly committed, and of all the hard
things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” - 1 Enoch 1:9-10
These
references in Peter and Jude’s letters make it clear that the apostles and
early disciples of the church viewed the Book of 1 Enoch as legitimate
Scripture. For this reason and others presented in Book Four, the Book of 1
Enoch deserves a place in the Old Testament equal to that of the Book of
Revelation in the New Testament. Though the Book of Jasher and Book of Jubilees
aren’t as valuable as the Book of 1 Enoch from a spiritual standpoint, they can
help us to understand the spiritual history in the Bible better as well as
strengthen our walk with Yah. I therefore often quote from these books,
especially 1 Enoch, in order to substantiate my claims about the time before
the Flood as well as my interpretation of prophecy.
A
comparison of Enoch’s portrayal in the Book of Jasher and the Book of 1 Enoch
with Arab legends shows a remarkable correlation. Incidentally, all these
information sources about Enoch give us a picture of Enoch that seems to
correlate with the mythology surrounding the Ancient Egyptian god Thoth, and
the deified architect Imhotep. The ancient Egyptian god Thoth was the divine
Scribe of the gods, just as Enoch was. As scribe to the gods, it was Thoth’s
job to keep and read heavenly records. He was also the messenger of the gods
who relayed messages between gods and men. Thoth was also considered the god of
wisdom who invented writing and kept records of the divine will of the gods.
Like Thoth, Enoch was called the “scribe of righteousness” who wrote down and
otherwise recorded the Will of Yahweh. In addition, the Arabs and Jews ascribed
Enoch with the invention of writing.
Since
I believe Enoch invented hieroglyphic writing, and the godly Cainan learned to
utilize it from Enoch, the god Thoth could be a composite figure who
represented both the spiritual and astronomical wisdom of Cainan with the
scientific, spiritual and prophetic knowledge of Enoch. Though there is no
reason to believe that either Cainan or Enoch deified themselves, their
ancestors very well could have done so when they fell into sin. Later, the
Greeks associated their god Hermes (a.k.a.: Mercury, ambassador of the gods)
with Thoth.
The Egyptians called their hieroglyphic
system of writing the “medew netjeru” or “the words of the gods.” In keeping
with the name they used to refer to writing, their highly symbolic system of
writing has parallels to Yahweh God’s unwritten symbolic Language. Like God’s
unwritten Language, hieroglyphics used images of things rather than abstract
letters to relay messages. Just as hieroglyphs use images as symbols for words
and sounds, the antediluvians appear to have invented another system of
communicating ideas that was entirely visual. It therefore relied solely on the
language of allegory to be deciphered. This visual language of symbols was used
both before and after the Flood, though after the Flood people gradually forgot
the true meanings behind these symbols. Throughout this book series, therefore,
we examine what this visual language was like, how it was perverted, and how it
can be reclaimed for Christ.
The
Book of 1 Enoch provides us with a wonderful record of how well the
antediluvians knew the true God Yahweh, despite their lack of a Bible to study.
Enoch’s view of God, and his prophetic knowledge of the Gospel message can also
be deciphered through the ancient manuscript that bears his name. This is
because it is filled with vivid accounts of how God manifested himself to
Enoch. It also includes many exhortations to the righteous who love God,
descriptions of God’s attributes, prophecies concerning the Last Day, and vivid
descriptions of what will happen to both the saved and the damned on God’s
final Day of Judgment.
To
understand Enoch’s writings better, let’s explore some of the terminology that
Enoch used to talk about Yahweh.
(AUTHOR”NOTE:
This section is as yet unfinished, but will be added to soon.)
Unfortunately,
many wonderful records of Yahweh’s greatness were almost completely lost due to
Satanic corruption. One of these magnificent records is found in the night sky,
in the constellations of the Zodiac. There is ample evidence that the Language
of God found in the Mazzaroth or Zodiac was known and understood prior to the
Great Flood. Let’s examine the Book of 1 Enoch for clues to the extent of this
knowledge.
1
Enoch describes many celestial phenomena that the godly antediluvian patriarch
Enoch sees in visions. He accurately conveys the paths of the Sun, and the
cycles of the Moon. He also describes an ingenious way that the solar equinoxes,
and solstices were determined by sighting the Sun on imaginary pillars on the
eastern horizon (Book of 1 Enoch, Chapters 72-77). These pillars divided the
eastern horizon into six portals that the Sun passed through - from north to
south, and from south to north - in the course of one year. The time of year
determined which houses of the Zodiac each of these portals correlated with.
As
cited in Book One, the Book of 1 Enoch also explains the science involved in
the construction of henges such as Stonehenge. Enoch’s description of how to
construct a henge is found in 1 Enoch 72:1-37. Intriguingly, these henges have
been found all over the world, and like Stonehenge, many were likely built
prior to the Great Flood. A henge is a circular earthwork in which stone
menhirs or wooden posts have been aligned to mark astronomical events on the
surrounding horizon. Though earthworks mark a true henge, many stone and wooden
circles that do not have an earthwork enclosure appear to have been used for
astronomical observation, and have been associated with megalithic religious
rituals. In addition to their ritual uses, all henges appear to have been
constructed to serve as accurate astronomical time-keeping mechanisms.
Stone
or wooden circles were constructed using the sunrise and sunset positions of
the Sun. These were sighted on Earth’s horizon to plot points on the ground
over a period of one year. These points were then marked with an upright wooden
rod or stone pillar called a menhir. The resulting clusters of menhirs are
sometimes called dolmens. Some of these clusters of upright stones may have
once served as markers for tombs. Many henges were also constructed to mark
certain astronomical points made by various stars, planets, and the Moon.
In
addition to charting the course of the Sun, Moon, and stars to determine the
length of the year, the antediluvians likely used the stars, and more
specifically, the Mazzaroth or Zodiac, to determine greater lengths of time.
When dealing with very long lengths of time, stars alone were probably used to
mark the desired reference date. This practice is evident in the star shafts -
and in the entire ground plan - for the pyramid complex at Giza, which is
discussed at length in Book Four - in the section on the Great Pyramid.
Elsewhere
in his writings, Enoch mentions a special record that he had access to that he
called “the heavenly tablets.” Furthermore, Enoch records that Yahweh God
placed a testimony in Heaven. This heavenly testimony and the heavenly tablets
could be the same thing. In fact, the band of symbolic stars we call the
Zodiac, as well as the thirty-six decan signs associated with them (totaling
forty-eight constellations), may be the heavenly tablets Enoch spoke of. The
forty-eight ancient constellations may therefore have formed the heavenly
tablets, which instructed men and angels via allegorical image associations with the major star clusters
in the night sky:
“And
he said unto me: 'This place which thou seest - here are cast the spirits of sinners
and blasphemers, and of those who work wickedness, and of those who pervert
everything that the Lord hath spoken through the mouth 7 of the prophets-(even)
the things that shall be. For some
of them are written and inscribed above in the heaven, in order that the angels
may read them and know that which shall befall the sinners, and the spirits of
the humble,
and of those who have afflicted their bodies, and been recompensed.’ ” - 1
Enoch 108:6-7
That
the heavens serve as a divine record of mankind’s deeds over time makes sense
spiritually. This is because the stars themselves are said to allegorically
represent God’s holy angels (1 Enoch 86:1-4), and the offspring of Abraham (Genesis 15:5;
Deut. 1:10, 10:22). The descendents of Abraham include the people descended
from the Twelve Tribes of Israel, and the redeemed who are adopted into both
Abraham’s and Yahweh’s Family through Blood Covenanting and Marriage (See Book
Two for more on these important subjects).
In
the Book of 1 Enoch, Enoch deems it important enough to remind his audience
several times that he was given the ability to read these heavenly tablets, and
that - once he understood them - he realized that they tell a story like books:
“And
he said unto me: ‘Observe, Enoch, these
heavenly tablets, And read what is written hereon, And mark every individual
fact.' And I observed the heavenly tablets, and read everything which was
written (thereon) and understood everything, and read the book of all the deeds
of mankind, and of all the children of flesh.’ ” - 1 Enoch 81:1-2
“Yea,
I Enoch will declare (them) unto you, my sons: According to that which appeared
to me in the heavenly vision, and which I
have known through the word of the holy angels, and have learnt from the
heavenly tablets.” - 1 Enoch 93:1-2
“I
know a mystery and have read the heavenly
tablets,
and have seen the holy books…” - 1 Enoch 103:1
“And
after that there shall be still more unrighteousness than that which was first
consummated on the Earth; for I know the mysteries of the holy ones; for He,
the Lord, has showed me and informed me, and I
have read (them) in the heavenly tablets.”
“And I saw written on them that generation upon generation shall
transgress,
till a generation of righteousness arises, and transgression is destroyed and
sin passes away from the Earth…” - 1 Enoch 106:18 thru 107:1
Though
we do not ordinarily think in metaphorical terms, Enoch’s generation did. That
is why Enoch’s references to reading heavenly tablets that he described as holy
books seems strange to us. We find it hard to picture a material artifact such
as written record, or book, in a spiritual place such as Heaven. But, since it
is written in the heavens, this record cannot be an ordinary book, which is
composed using a specific language and alphabet. In fact, our mental picture of
a heavenly book seems nonsensical until we regard it correctly, as using
allegorical pictures instead of words to convey truth.
It
makes sense to suppose that Enoch was talking about a metaphorical and symbolic
record transcribed on the vault of the physical heavens somewhere. It also
seems reasonable to assume that this record is within easy access to angels, and was also observable by Enoch from Earth. These assumptions
make sense because Enoch clearly indicated that these heavenly tablets tell a
story “of all the deeds of mankind.” They are therefore not just
technical explanations of how the heavens are structured, or lists of universal
facts. These heavenly tablets tell a story - one that can be read like a book.
Another
reference outside of the Bible sheds light on the subject of what the heavenly
tablets were. It’s found in the histories of Josephus. This is what he had to
say about the antediluvians:
“Now
this Seth, when he was brought up, and came to those years in which he could
discern what was good, became a virtuous man; and as he was himself of an
excellent character, so did he leave children behind him who imitated his
virtues. All these proved to be of good dispositions. They also inhabited the
same country without dissensions, and in a happy condition, without any
misfortunes falling upon them, till they died. They also were the inventors of that peculiar sort of wisdom which is
concerned with the heavenly bodies, and their order.” – Josephus, The
Antiquities of the Jews, Book 1, Chapter 2, Section 3, Verses 68-69
Josephus
makes it clear that the descendants of Seth invented a form of astronomy prior
to the Flood. Enoch was of the seventh generation from Seth. In addition, the
Book of 1 Enoch shows advanced astronomical knowledge. It is therefore likely
that Enoch was among those who helped develop the science of astronomy. Could
he also have been the first to record the meanings of the constellations in the
signs of the Zodiac? Ancient Arab legends suggest that this was the case, as
does the Book of Jubilees, Book of Jasher, and Book of 1 Enoch.
Though
none of these ancient records contain Enoch’s written account of the pictorial
Zodiac that formed the heavenly tablets, they tell us Enoch was a hermit who
spent more time in the presence of angels than with men. Furthermore, we are told, these angels fully
instructed Enoch about the meaning and purpose of the heavenly tablets (1 Enoch
33:2-4, 93:1-2; Jubilees 4:21-22; Jasher 3:2). In addition, Enoch may have
borrowed some of this knowledge from his ancestors Seth and Cainan, then
developed it much further using what the angels had taught him about the
divine, allegorical Language of God.
As
discussed in Book One: “The Language of God in the Universe,” it is quite
possible that the carved Zodiac found on the ceiling in the temple at
Dendera in Egypt is the actual record of the ‘heavenly tablet” that Enoch
“wrote” by ascribing it in stone. Though the Zodiac of Dendera in Egypt
is dated to around 400 BC, it depicts the night sky in a much earlier era - at
around 4000 BC. This is the era when Adam was created. The Dendera Zodiac may
therefore depict the primeval night sky as initially viewed by the first human
being to walk the Earth.
Though
Josephus ascribes the descendents of Seth with the invention of Sacred
Astronomy, and the creation of the Great Pyramid and Great Sphinx, Enoch is
recorded as the first man to know what the heavenly tablets, or Gospel in the
Stars, truly meant in a prophetic sense. Nonetheless, God likely taught the
knowledge of the pictorial Zodiac to Adam - when Adam was still sinless and
perfect. Though we always assume that Yahweh created Adam as a fully formed
adult, it is likely that Adam was formed as a child who could more readily be
taught. At that time, Adam must also have been given a basic and intuitive
knowledge similar to the kind any grown child has. Shortly after his creation,
Adam would have been taught about the Zodiac. Meanwhile, he would have observed
that the Sun was in Virgo at sunrise, and Aries was the first sign to rise at
night.
As
mentioned earlier, Adam’s great grandson Cainan was ascribed with knowing and
recording much wisdom on stone tablets. Some of Cainan’s wisdom was therefore
likely the foundation for Enoch’s own understanding of the Gospel in the Stars.
However, it was probably Enoch who was the first prophet of Yah to describe the
full spiritual and prophetic implications of all forty-eight ancient Zodiac
signs.
Josephus
indicates that the antediluvian ancestors of Seth built two pillars - one of
stone and the other of brick - that would record all their knowledge of the
heavens:
“…And
that their inventions might not be lost before they were sufficiently known, upon
Adam's prediction that the world was to be destroyed at one time by the force
of fire, and at another time by the violence and quantity of water, they made two pillars, the one of
brick, the other of stone: they inscribed their discoveries on them both, that in case the pillar
of brick should be destroyed by the flood, the pillar of stone might remain,
and exhibit those discoveries to mankind; and also inform them that there was
another pillar of brick erected by them. Now this remains in the land of Siriad to this day.” - Josephus, The Antiquities of the Jews, Book 1, Chapter 2,
Section 3, Verse 70
In
the above passage, Josephus claims that the Sethites built one stone and one
brick “pillar” in a place called Siriad, and that these two pillars still existed
the 1st Century AD, when Josephus wrote his histories. Siriad is an ancient
name for Egypt, so we can logically conclude that these monuments were built
somewhere in Egypt. Now we need to identify these “pillars” in Egypt that
conclusively show advanced astronomical knowledge. The only stone structures
that do so are five pyramids and the Great Sphinx, all attributed to the rulers
of the Old Kingdom’s Fourth Dynasty. The Fourth Dynasty in Ancient Egypt is
estimated to have been between 2575 - 2467BC. This was very early in Egypt’s
history. If the traditional Biblical Chronology formulated by Bishop Usher is
followed with the creation (or Fall?) of Adam and Eve in 4003 BC and the Great
Flood in 2347 BC, these five Old Kingdom pyramids and the Great Sphinx were built
hundreds of years BEFORE the Great Flood.
Several
Forth Dynasty rulers are thought to have built the two pyramids south of Giza
at Dahshur, the three biggest pyramids at Giza, and their enigmatic companion
to the east: the Great Sphinx. The Great Sphinx’ rear section was actually
constructed partly of fired bricks. Badly damaged, these bricks have since been
covered over with a veneer of stone in subsequent repairs, both ancient and
modern. Near the Sphinx is the Great Pyramid - the only Wonder of the Ancient
World still standing. The Great Pyramid is made of an estimated 2.5 million
massive stone blocks, most weighing around two tons. Some of the blocks used in
the interior of the Great Pyramid, however, weigh an excess of forty
tons! Could these be the pillars of stone and brick the antediluvian
descendents of Seth built before the Flood? This seems highly likely, as some
form of advanced technology that was unavailable to the Egyptians after the
Great Flood appears to have been used in their construction.
In
particular, the Great Pyramid at Giza shows advanced technological,
astronomical, and mathematical knowledge that the Ancient Egyptians simply did
not have for most of their history – mathematical knowledge such as the value
of Pi (p). This suggests that some culture other
than theirs built the Great Pyramid in the remote past. Certain Arab
legends indicate that it was the godly antediluvian patriarch Enoch who built
the Great Pyramid. According to biblical chronology, Enoch was born about 3381
BC, which means he would have been translated into heaven in 3016 BC, exactly
365 years after he was born. If the Great Pyramid were built during Enoch’s
patriarchal rule, this would place the building of the Great Pyramid to a much
earlier time in history than the 4th Dynasty Pharaoh Khufu’s reign, which is
currently believed to have been between 2551 and 2528 BC.
Arab
legends indicate that the Great Pyramid was built to record the scientific,
mathematical, and prophetic knowledge of the remote past. In Book Four, an
entire section has been devoted to showing that this Arab legend is absolutely
true. The Great Pyramid is a veritable encyclopedia of arcane knowledge about
the Universe, our Solar System, and our Earth. It may also have been meant to
record the date of the Universe’s creation, the year of the birth of Christ,
and the date of the world’s probable demise at the end of time - when the New
Heaven and the New Earth will be created.
Still
other legends attribute the building of the Great Pyramid to Seth or his
grandson Cainan. I do not believe that Cainan built the three biggest pyramids
at Giza, however, but two earlier, and no less interesting pyramids at Dahshur,
in Egypt. As previously mentioned, the Book of Jasher records that Cainan was a
great wise man, and it is my belief that - for similar religious reasons -
Cainan built the Red and Bent Pyramids at Dahshur before Enoch designed and
built the Great Pyramid complex at Giza. We will explore this idea a bit more
in the next chapter.
The
dating of the star shafts in the Great Pyramid to the night sky in 2500 BC
place its possible construction to about 200 years before the Flood, which
likely began in 2347 BC. Based on the quotation by the historian Josephus about
the antediluvian descendants of Seth building two monuments in Syriad, Enoch’s
prophecies and visions may have been the spiritual foundation for the Great
Pyramid, and the Great Sphinx. Perhaps even before Enoch was translated, those
who followed Seth and Enoch could have built the Great Pyramid, and the Great
Sphinx. It is also likely that they built these monuments near to where they
lived in Egypt prior to the Great Flood.
The
Book of 1 Enoch reveals that great spiritual and astronomical knowledge was
given to Enoch in visions. As the surviving copies of the Book of Enoch attest,
Enoch then readily shared what he had been shown with others. Using the
knowledge Yahweh had given him, Enoch could easily have drawn up the plans for
the Giza pyramids - making sure that they represented Orion’s belt. I
personally believe that Enoch, as one so highly esteemed by Yahweh that he was
translated, is the most likely candidate to have undertaken this gargantuan
task. Before he was taken up to Heaven, Enoch was likely given a vision of what
he was to build at Giza. At that time, he would have been shown that the Great
Pyramid would represent the greatest of the three stars in Orion’s belt, as
well as the Messiah to come. Enoch then would have been shown how to fill this
pyramid, or “pillar” with much more scientific and prophetic knowledge than any
other pyramid or pillar to Yah was designed to reveal prior to, or after that.
As
demonstrated in Book Four: “The Language of God in Prophecy,” the three
pyramidal-shaped stone pillars built at Giza contain an amazing record of the
mathematical, scientific, astronomical, and religious knowledge of a
technologically and spiritually advanced, bygone Age. By divine revelation,
Enoch (or someone who had to be very much like him) knew how to depict the
constellation of Orion through the three biggest Pyramids at Giza. Orion was
associated with Yahweh’s promised Messiah, and Enoch was likely directed to
show that he was aware of the triune nature of his God by depicting the Messiah
as a pyramid linked to one of the three belt stars in Orion. Gathering a large
group of righteous people who wanted to share in his vision, Enoch then may
have overseen the most ambitious building project ever undertaken by men -
outside of the legendary Tower of Babel.
Though
Enoch may have ordered the building of the Great Pyramid, Enoch’s son
Methuselah may have continued this building project using the blueprints Enoch
left behind after he was translated into Heaven. Methuselah could then have
commissioned, or continued work on one of the most massive building projects in
stone ever devised by man. Regardless of who built the biggest pyramids at
Giza, and the Great Sphinx, however, their astronomical connection has been
well founded in recent years. Both Graham Hancock and Robert Bauval have
written books that amass much evidence concerning the astronomical importance
of the whole Giza complex. I analyzed their theory that the Giza Complex is
associated with the constellation of Orion in Book One, but examine it even
more fully in Book Four.
Despite
the evidence that points to a Pre-Flood construction for the Great Pyramid, a
few scholars believe that the Great Flood was so violent that nothing could
have withstood its ferocity. They therefore think that every building
constructed by human beings prior to the Great Flood was completely destroyed.
I have problems with this theory for two reasons. First of all, they ignore the
fact that the Great Pyramid remains the most massive and expertly constructed stone
building in the world to this day. No other building in stone or metal
was ever as well constructed as the Great Pyramid, which has withstood severe
earthquakes and storms for thousands of years! Secondly, biblical chronology
tells me that the Great Flood occurred in 2347 BC. Since the Great Pyramid was
likely built on or before 2500BC, it would have been standing for at least 200
years prior to the Flood.
Nonetheless,
there are also some Eastern legends that cite Noah’s son Shem as the builder of
the Great Pyramid after the Flood. To prove that Noah’s son Shem may have built
the Great Pyramid after the Great Flood, Some scholars cite Josephus’ claim
that Abraham, who was born in 2055 BC and lived 175 years, was teaching Sacred
Astronomy to the Ancient Egyptians, who seem to have had no apparent knowledge
of Astronomy:
“For
whereas the Egyptians were formerly addicted to different customs, and despised
one another's sacred and accustomed rites, and were very angry one with another
on that account, Abram conferred with each of them, and, confuting the
reasonings they made use of, every one for their own practices, demonstrated
that such reasonings were vain and void of truth: whereupon he was admired by
them in those conferences as a very wise man, and one of great sagacity, when
he discoursed on any subject he undertook; and this not only in understanding
it, but in persuading other men also to assent to him. He communicated to them arithmetic, and delivered to them the science
of astronomy; for before Abram came into Egypt they were unacquainted with
those parts of learning; for that science came from the Chaldeans into Egypt, and from thence
to the Greeks also.” - Josephus, Antiquities of the Jews, Book 1, Chapter 8,
Section 2
My
answer to this portion of Josephus’ historical commentary is simple. After the
Great Flood, everyone did not have knowledge of Sacred Astronomy, but only a
select few. This knowledge was kept hidden because Noah and others were afraid
that it would be corrupted or used toward evil ends if given to ungodly people,
just as had already been done prior to the Great Flood. Noah would therefore
have revealed his knowledge of Sacred Astronomy only to those chosen by God to
receive this knowledge. After Noah’s Ark landed on Mount Ararat in present day
Armenia after the Great Flood, Noah and his sons spread out and founded many
entirely new civilizations in Mesopotamia, some right over the top of the
totally destroyed and buried remains of Pre-Flood civilization centers.
Since
Shem was the son of Noah chosen by God to receive God’s promises, Noah would
likely have taught the knowledge of Sacred Astronomy to Shem alone, at least
initially. This means that the descendents of Ham who settled in Egypt after
the Great Flood would have had no knowledge of Sacred Astronomy - or the true
purpose of the already ancient pyramid complexes at Giza and Dahshur until
Abraham reintroduced this knowledge to Egypt. Sadly, as already shown, the son
of Arphaxad named Cainan then re-introduced a perverted form of Sacred
Astronomy to Babylonia.
Though
Josephus identifies the Aramaic-speaking Chaldeans as the source of the science
of Astronomy, this Semitic race that ruled Mesopotamia before the Persians
actually inherited this science from the earlier Babylonians and Sumerians, who
were also Semites. The spread of Pagan astrology and star worship effectively
obliterated the true purpose of Sacred Astronomy and the Gospel in the Stars -
sacred sciences that Shem and Abraham had likely taught to the wisest and most
godly men of Mesopotamia, Canaan, and Egypt beforehand.
As
cited in the next chapter, it is likely that Abraham was a contemporary of
Noah’s son Shem, and that Abraham learned about Sacred Astronomy and the Gospel
in the Stars from Shem. This occurred at the time when Nimrod - as the world’s
first dictator -ruled Mesopotamia, and many other places. This is also
when Nimrod - in an effort to destroy the power of the Gospel in the Stars -
introduced Pagan star worship. As shown in the next chapter, the Book of Jasher
records that Shem was the biblical Melchizedek - the King of Salem, and the
priest of God Most High.
Salem
was the arcane name for Jerusalem, which places Shem as a ruler in southern
Canaan, or Palestine. Meanwhile, Ham was the patriarch who is believed to have
settled in Egypt. Shem was therefore likely a king of a city hundreds of miles
away from Shem’s brother Ham’s territory. Since most Bible historians agree
that Ham’s descendents ruled Egypt, Shem’s descendents would have had no direct
authority to build anything there - that is, unless they conquered Upper Egypt
at some point in an effort to repair the stone monuments built at Giza before
the Flood. Foreign invaders that have been dubbed the Shepherd kings due to
their pastoral Semitic roots did, in fact, rule in Egypt several times
throughout Egypt’s long history.
Many
scholars are coming forth with various theories showing that the ancients
apparently understood a complex form of astronomy. Yet even before this current
knowledge came to light, other books were available that disclosed the amazing
mathematical and scientific knowledge that is contained in the structure of the
Great Pyramid. Many scholars have also shown that the interior passages of the
pyramid are literally a prophecy in stone. The internal passages, when measured
in pyramid inches, may show the date when human history will end. In addition,
the construction of the passages gives clear metaphorical messages that show
the entire spiritual walk of mankind through the Ages!
Much
more can be said about the Great Pyramid than I have space to cover in detail
in this chapter. For those hungry to know more, an elaborate summary of the
scientific, spiritual, and prophetic messages contained within the design of
the Great Pyramid is included in Book Four. The Great Pyramid is also mentioned
in several upcoming chapters.
Unfortunately,
as many readers may be aware, the practitioners of Pagan and New Age religions
also often cite the Great Pyramid as a source of esoteric and occult knowledge,
as well as a mechanism used in esoteric religious initiations, and ceremonies
surrounding the dead. These false teachings are being promulgated through
practitioners of Astrology, as well as those involved in New Age and Pagan
religions, and many other forms of the occult.
One
of the modern teachers of these spiritual falsehoods are the Freemasons - a
once decidedly Christian men’s organization that has slipped into gross
spiritual error in recent years. In the book “Uriel’s Machine,” the authors,
who are both freemasons, convincingly tie the henges found all over the world
with a henge described in the Book of 1 Enoch. Unfortunately, however, they
also attempt to prove that these henges were meant to convey New Age style,
demonically inspired, esoteric knowledge, rather than godly astronomical
knowledge.
In an ominous twist to the information
supplied by Josephus about the two memorial pillars built by the descendents of
Seth, these occult practitioners have attributed the building of two Pre-Flood
pillars to the descendents of Cain, not Seth! To show this, the authors of
“Uriel’s Machine” quote from two obscure sources they call the “Indigo Jones
Manuscript,” and the “Wood Manuscript.” Here is a quote from the Indigo Jones
manuscript, which is highly regarded by some Masons:
“…before…
NOAH'S Flood, there was a Man called LAMECH… who had two Wives, the One
called ADA, the other ZILLA; BY ADA, he begat two SONS, JABAL and/UBAL,
by ZILLA, he
had One SON called TUB ALL and a Daughter called Naamab: These four
Children found the beginning of all crafts in the World:
JABAL found out GEOMETRY, and he Divided Flocks of Sheep,
He first built a House of Stone and Timber. HIS Brother JUBAL found the ART of MUSICK He was the
Father of all such as Handle the Harp and Organ, TUBAL-CAIN was the
Instructer of Every Artificer in Brass and Iron, And the Daughter found
out the ART of Weaving. THESE Children knew well that GOD would take Vengeance
for SIN either by Fire or Water; Whereefore they Wrote their SCIENCES that
they had found in Two Pillars, that they might be found after in Two Pillars,
that they might be found after NOAH'S Flood.”
“ONE
of the Pillars was Marble, for that will not Burn with any Fire, And the other
stone was Laternes for that will not drown with any Water… next is
to Tell you Truly, how… these STONES were found
whereon these SCIENCES were Written. THE Great HERMES (Surnamed TRISMAGISTUS,
or three times Great)
Being both King, Priest and Philosopher, (in EGYPT) he found One of them, and
Lived in the Year of the World Two Thousand and Seventy Six (2076 BC),
in the Reign of NINUS, and some think him to be Grandson to CUSH, which was Grandson to NOAH,
he was the first that began to Learn of Astrology, To
Admire the other Wonders of Nature; He proved, there was but One GOD, Creator of all Things, He
Divided the Day into Twelve Hours. He is also thought to be the first who
Divided the ZODIACK into Twelve Signes, He was scribe to OSYRIS King of EGYPT; And is
said to have invented Ordinary Writing, and Hierogliphiks, the first (Anno Mundi. MDCCCX.) Laws of the
Egyptians; And Divers Sciences, and Taught them unto other Men.”
This
quote shows that some people attribute the evil descendents of Cain, rather
than the Sethites, with building two stone pillars in Egypt. They also believe
these structures were built during the mythical reign of their god/king called
Osiris. Are they falsely assigning the same structures built by the godly
Sethites to the Cainites, who followed the false teachings of the fallen
Watchers? Or could these stone pillars of the Cainites actually have been the
pyramids of Unas and Pepi I, which contain the occultic incantations called the
Pyramid Texts? Could these inscribed pillars of the Cainites, which contradict
the two un-inscribed pillars made by the Sethites, be the same inscribed
pillars that Cainan, the son of Arphaxad, supposedly read, copied, and hid from
Noah?
First
of all, the Indigo Jones Manuscript seems to be tied to the false idea that
there was only one patriarch named Enoch prior to the Great Flood, and this
Enoch was not of the godly line of Seth, but of Cain. This lie has risen up
around the teachings of scholars (unfortunately including David Rohl) who have
attempted to prove that there was only one line of patriarchal kings prior to
the Great Flood, instead of the two listed in the Book of Genesis. This idea
that the two men named Enoch found in the Pre-Flood bloodline of both Seth and
Cain were the same man is an outright heresy that will be addressed in the next
chapter.
The
Indigo Jones Manuscript also clearly says that the deified Hermes Trismagistus
found the writings of the Cainites, and then invented Astrology, which is a
gross perversion of the Sacred Astronomy that that the Sethites invented. This
identified Hermes as non other than Cainan, who was not a grandson of Cush, but
of Shem. Incidentally, this raises the point that, since the Book of Jubilees
attributes Cainan with reading these false Pre-Flood writings, it precludes that
he understood the meanings of the symbols used to record them. Some form of
symbolic writing, therefore, obviously existed prior to the Great Flood. If so,
writing and record keeping were not invented after the Flood - only
revived, altered, and/or restored.
As
will be shown a bit later, the mythical god/king of Egypt called Osiris may
have been none other than Nimrod, the evil ruler of Babylonia who rose to power
after the Flood, and formed a world empire symbolized by the doomed Tower of
Babel. It is therefore likely that Shem’s grandson Cainan not only found the
false Astrological teachings of the Watchers in Egypt, but then revealed what
they said to his Hamite relative Nimrod/Osiris, who did not yet reside in Egypt
even though he ruled over it as the first world dictator!
Before
we move on to other topics, it is vitally important here to remember that the
Indigo Jones manuscript attributes the knowledge of writing, time-keeping,
record-keeping, and astronomy - which other traditions attribute to Seth’s
descendents Cainan, son of Enosh, Enoch, son of Jared, or Shem, son of Noah -
to Hermes Trismagistus - who was a supposed scion of the ancient wise men
called Magi. This teaching is in direct opposition to the record of the Jewish
historian Josephus, who testified that the righteous descendents of Seth,
rather than Cain, built two stone pillars to preserve their knowledge before
the Great Flood.
We
will discuss these stone pillars that the Sethites built in the next chapter,
where it will be shown that the Pre-Flood patriarchs Enoch and Cainan may have
been the first monumental builders on the Earth, and that they may have built
both the Old Kingdom pyramids at Dahshur and Giza to serve as covenant pillars.
As such, these pyramids may have originally been dedicated to telling this
generation about the one true God, and His Gospel recorded in the Stars.
Sadly
- to their eternal peril - those who currrently promote the false teachings of
the Pre-Flood Cainites are doing as Nimrod, and Arphaxad’s son Cainan did after
the Flood. This was to experiment with Astrological "magic," believe
in false gods, practice idolatry and Sorcery, and grossly misuse Sacred
Astronomy - thereby turning it into a demonic religion called Astrology. They
are the damned modern torchbearers of a great spiritual deception - one that
many biblical prophets foresaw. The current rapid growth of this false
religious system shows that the Great Tribulation, and the devastating
beginning of the Day of the Lord, is not far off. Many details and prophecies
about the Day of the Lord will be explored in Book Four.
